How to Use This IA Evaluation App
The goal of this application is to give you positive and negative examples of IA Evaluations. As you critically evaluate them, you will learn key pitfalls and mistakes that students make, so you can avoid them, as well as the key components of great evaluations!
Here is a quick guide to getting the most out of the app:
Step 1: Read the Evaluation carefully
Pay close attention to the evaluation and critically think about what the student is saying, and what they might be missing.
Step 2: Evaluate the work using the Internal Assessment Criteria
Compare the sample work to the grading criteria, discuss your thoughts with your classmates (if possible) and mark the paper yourself. It is ok to be wrong on the grading but do your best to try to grade it! You will get feedback after grading that you can use to help answer the questions that follow.
Step 3: Answer the multiple choice questions carefully.
Think about each question and read each answer option. These are graded and affect your score on the assignment.
Step 4: Write your reflection
Write a thoughtful reflection on what you learned about the paper so you can apply this knowledge as you write your own Research Design!
Step 5: Repeat the process for all of the samples
All of the samples have different strengths and weaknesses, so be sure to complete them all to get a good breadth of understanding.
Step 6: Take the Final Quiz
See how much you have learned. You should apply this knowledge to your own Evaluation.
Step 7: Generate your Report
Once you are done, generate your full report, export it as a PDF, and keep it for future reference. You can also turn in this pdf to your teacher.
